The Influence of Physical Parameters on Space Charge Characteristics in Cable Insulation Under AC Electric Field

The space charge dynamic behavior and accumulation are important contributions to the formation of electrical trees, as recognized by crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) cable insulation under alternating current electric stress. In this paper, in order investigate reasons for phenomenon revealed experiments ac stress, a bipolar transport model with symmetrical asymmetrical parameters is built AC mechanism analyzed based on variation density different voltage application time phase. effects each major physical parameter simulated analyzed, respectively. results show that there no obvious parameters. However, result motions between positive negative charges, which greatly enhances accumulation. Each main has an influence perspectives extents. applicability simulation evaluated comparing experiment results. This study contributes understanding generation serves basis improving stability XLPE power cables.
